Part.1 Industry initiatives in promoting GHG emissions reduction from international shipping
Private sector-led movements are becoming more active in reducing GHG emissions from international shipping. In this session, we will introduce "Poseidon Principles", which is a framework to promote decarbonization from the standpoint of financial institutions, and "Sea Cargo Charter", which is the same framework from shippers, and “Getting to Zero Coalition”, a corporate coalition aimed at introducing commercially viable zero-emission vessels by 2030.

This regulation applies the fuel efficiency performance indicators to existing ships in the same way as new ships (EEDI regulation). In this session, we will introduce the outline of the EEXI regulation, preparations necessary for compliance, and points of attention, etc.
