Highly ductile steel for shipbuilding from NIPPON STEEL(NSafe®-Hull)

NSafeⓇ-Hull shows excellent ductility perforrmance while the workability is that of conventional products. This substantially improves the collision safety on ships. It also increases ship durability compared with conventional steels and contributes to preventing ingress of water into cargo holds, which directly leads to cargo damage and oil leakage resulting in serious environmental pollution.

Hollow Structural Section of NIPPON STEEL METAL PRODUCTS.

Hollow structural sections are made by cold bending hot-rolled coils and welding the ends to form steel pipes, which are then formed into square or rectangular shapes. They are used in structures for fastening containers and ship's hull pillars. This is a product that contributes to CN, for which we obtained EcoLeaf Environmental Product Declarations certification this spring.
