Damen Marine Components (DMC) specialises in the design and production of rudders and steering gear, and nozzles. In 2018, nozzle manufacturer DMC was merged with Van der Velden, a specialist in the area of manoeuvrability for the entire maritime market for more than 50 years, to create the new, enhanced DMC. The proud Van der Velden name lives on however as the official trademark for DMC’s rudder and steering gear products.
Our activities include the engineering, construction and installation of manoeuvring systems. We are specialised in customised solutions with regard to complete manoeuvring packages, including rudders, rudder trunks, streamline bodies, steering gear and nozzles.
We have been involved in some of the most innovative and technical challenging full spade rudder designs around the world.

Van der Velden® rudders and steering gears are recognised as being state-of-the art. Wherever possible, products are integrated in a complete system with a tailor-made approach.
